About Our Church

Nampa Church of the Brethren has enjoyed being involved in the lives of Nampa-area residents since 1899.   Lots of changes have taken place in the community over the years, but we’ve always tried to maintain both a loyalty to the Christian faith as taught in the Bible, and a relevance to the daily lives of people.  Bringing the Lord to people – and people to the Lord – has always been our chief purpose.

Our heart’s desire is for folks to become followers of Jesus Christ who will grow in their faith as they live out their  commitment  to  Him   responsibly, fruitfully and joyfully.
Nampa Church of the Brethren is a dynamic, growing, 110-year-old congregation. God cares about you and so do we!  And we’d love to have the chance to get to know you better.  If you’re looking for a church that you can call “home,” or if you’re struggling with something in your life and wonder if God might have some answers for you, please give us a try.   Who knows?  Nampa Church of the Brethren could be just what you need...

We attribute the church's growth to three factors: the rising population of Nampa, the welcoming attitude of longtime members, and a deep spiritual hunger in the community.

Statement of Beliefs

For guidance, Brethren look to the scriptures rather than to doctrine. Our faith emphasizes compassion, peacemaking, and simplicity. We seek to interpret eternal teachings of the Bible in fresh ways for our day.

Brethren belief: Brethren hold "no creed but the New Testament," seeking to live in harmony with the Scriptures and respect each person's search for truth.

How we live out our faith: For many Brethren, how we live is as important as what we believe. Jesus is not only the Savior who redeems us but also the Lord who leads us in daily life.

Brethren practice: We try to follow Jesus' example. We baptize those who seek to follow Jesus; we anoint for healing; and in our love feast we re-enact the Last Supper, at which Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and offered the bread and cup of communion.
